On certain school buses, the warning lights may stop functioning unexpectedly if the front entrance door closes without driver's input. Failure of the warning lights to remain on during the loading or unloading process may encourage motorists to pass the school bus, placing students at risk of being struck and possibly resulting in injury or death.
